Manchester United had an approach for Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid Kylian Mbappe rejected, according to the Daily Mirror. The Red Devils had a torrid transfer window with manager Jose Mourinho failing to acquire many of his top targets.
Brazil midfielder Fred was signed, and debuted against Leicester City, while youngster Diogo Dalot, and Lee Grant also moved to Old Trafford. But none of the club’s defensive targets were signed with Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire, Jerome Boateng, Yerry Mina, Diego Godin, and Kurt Zouma all being missed out on. Mourinho had also been interested in signing a left-back and a right winger should the appropriate signing materialise but they ended the summer transfer window with just the three deals coming in.
The Daily Mirror, though, report Manchester United enquired after the 19-year-old World Cup winner, just one year on from his £160million move to the French capital from Monaco. It’s believed PSG immediately knocked back the interest and made it clear Mbappe, following his star turn at World Cup 2018, would be going nowhere.
