Swedish mobile app, Truecaller’s subscribers’ base has grown by 130% this year.The call identity app added one million subscribers globally to its paid subscription service, Truecaller Premium.
The co-founder and CEO of Truecaller, Alan Mamedimade this known while announcing the new upgrades and series of new features that have been added to the paid subscription service.
“We are happy to see this growth and it makes us proud that users value the benefits of our Premium features. We are also excited to announce these new upgrades that would help us add even more value to our growing Premium users and help them make their communication safer and more efficient.”
The premium subscription service is known for revealing the identity a caller and its block/spam feature would now incorporate several advanced and more powerful spam blocking features that include automatically updating and blocking top spammers in your region.
Truecaller started out as a Caller ID and spam blocking app before moving to a fully-fledged communications platform with calls, SMS, flash messages.
Accordingto Truecaller, the spam-blocking features are currently available to Android users across all global markets of Truecaller. The application’s other recently launched subscription service, Truecaller Premium Gold, would also offer the upgraded features under its plan.
What you should know: Truecaller was initially conceived as a call blocking app, filtering spam numbers from users’ call logs. It has, however, changed a lot as it now filters spam SMS in addition to facilitating payments in some territories and an offering host of other niche services.
Reports have it that Truecaller’s programmatic platform had helped brands like Spotify and Zoomcar to capitalize on their platform and create impressions in India as it is said to be the largest revenue contributor for Truecaller globally.
