Manchester United and Tottenham will rival Inter Milan’s pursuit of unsettled Real Madrid star Luka Modric , according to reports. The Croatia international, 32, has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at the Bernabeu but is expected to leave the Spanish giants at the end of the season.
Since joining from Spurs in the summer of 2012, the influential midfielder has won three Champions League crowns and one LaLiga title. However, Modric is now resigned to the fact his six-year spell in Madrid is coming to an end, he has already told club captain Sergio Ramos he will leave next summer. It has been reported that the Croatian’s most likely next destination will be the San Siro, with Inter already establishing contact with the player’s representatives.
But it’s believed that both Manchester United and Modric’s former club Spurs are also in the running. United boss Jose Mourinho brought Modric to the Bernabeu during his spell in charge of Real and is said to remain a huge fan of the maestro.
