Police begin air surveillance of Benue communities

The Police have commenced air surveillance of troubled areas in Benue State in a bid to wade off attackers who have killed over 20 people in the past few days. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Habila Joshak, told newsmen in Makurdi on Friday that more troops were also been deployed to ensure safety of lives and property. Joshak said the approach amongst other strategy already in place was meant to put an end to the incessant invasion of gunmen on rural dwellers.

He warned those who may want to disobey the anti-grazing law recently implemented in the state, were in for a tough time with the police as they would be dealt with accordingly to make sure that the succeeds. Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Benue command, ASP. Moses Joel Yamu, confirmed the death of two other people in another attack on Anyim in Logo local government which was carried out on Wednesday.
