Luke Shaw reported no ill-effects overnight following the worrying head injury he suffered in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Spain at Wembley. As Gareth Southgate’s squad regrouped at St George’s Park on Sunday, Shaw was still being monitored but was reported to be fine after being carried off on a stretcher.
The Manchester United left-back required nearly seven minutes of treatment following a heavy fall having collided with Spain right-back Dani Carvajal, but was reported to be OKand messaging his family to inform them he was OK just moments after being carried off.
England boss Southgate joined just seven outfield players in training on Sunday. All of Saturday’s unused substitutes – Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, James Tarkowski, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fabian Delph – were accompanied by second-half replacements Danny Welbeck and Eric Dier for the session.
Goalkeepers Jack Butland, Alex McCarthy and Marcus Bettinelli were also put through their paces.
