RB Leipzig are willing to let Naby Keita join Liverpool this month, according to reports in Germany.
The Guinean midfielder is due to join the Premier League side in the summer, after a £48m deal was agreed at the start of this season. Liverpool made an enquiry to bring forward his arrival at the end of 2017 but that was ruled out by Leipzig, with their sporting director Ralf Rangnick insisting it would make ‘no sense’ to let Keita leave midway through the season as they target Champions League qualification. But German publication Bild claims that Leipzig chiefs have now softened their stance over the 22-year-old and will allow him to join the Reds in January for an extra payment.

The Bundesliga side will ket Keita go now if Liverpool pay them between €15million to €20m (£13m-£17.5m). Keita’s form has dipped in recent months and there have been discipline issues on and off the field. With Leipzig believing his head is already in Liverpool, manager Ralph Hasenhüttl is now willing to sanction an early exit.

It would be a major surprise if Liverpool did not take them up on the offer. Having sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £142million , they can certainly afford the extra payment and Keita’s arrival could be the perfect boost for Jurgen Klopp as they chase a top four spot and qualification for the Champions League quarter-finals.
