Ragnar Klavan has left Liverpool to join Cagliari on a permanent transfer. The Estonia international joined the Reds in 2016 from FC Augsburg and went on to make 53 appearances.
However, the arrival of world record signing Virgil van Dijk in January from Southampton pushed the 32-year-old even further out of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the new season. The deal, thought to be around £2million, has been completed before Cagliari play their first game of the season against Empoli this weekend. Klavan scored twice for the Reds during his short stay, scoring a crucial winner against Burnley earlier this year.
He featured eight times in the Champions League for Klopp’s side as well last season, helping them reach the Final against Real Madrid.
