Drake is just 21 days away from tying Usher’s record for the most weeks at number one on the U.S. pop charts in a calendar year. The rapper leads the Billboard Hot 100 for a sixth week with In My Feelings, giving him 25 weeks at number one in 2018. He also hit the top of the countdown with God’s Plan and Nice For What.
Usher landed the record with 28 weeks back in 2004. Drake also chalked up 19 weeks at number one in 2016, giving him fourth place on the longevity list. The rap star is also closing in on Usher’s total weeks at the top of the Hot 100 – Usher has 47, while Drake now has 45.
Only four acts have spent more time at number one – Mariah Carey (79 weeks), Rihanna (60), The Beatles (59) and Boyz II Men (50). Meanwhile, Maroon 5’s Girls Like You, featuring Cardi B, holds at two on the new chart, Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin’s I Like It stays put at three, and 6ix9ine’s FEFE collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz rises a spot to four. Post Malone’s Better Now also moves up a spot to complete the top five.
